Katadyn MyBottle Purifier is the ingenious drinking bottle with an integrated virus filter. It enables the purification of drinking water at any time and anywhere – there’s no need for pumping. Ideal for small quantities, e.g. when hiking, traveling or playing sport. A fiberglass pre-filter removes bacteria and protozoa as well as particles larger than 0.3 microns The new 3-layer filter medium ViruPur blocks viruses and the smallest particles based on electrokinetic depth filtration. The MyBottle doesn’t require chemicals or batteries.

According to U.S. EPA microbiological water purifier testing, the included iodide resin Virustat microbial purification cartridge removed the following contaminants:

•99.9999% of waterborne bacteria such as Klebsiella terrigena
•99.99% of waterborne viruses including Poliovirus Type 1 and Type 1 Rotavirus Strain SA-11
•99.9% of waterborne protozoa such as Giardia
•Other impurities and contaminants, as well as bad tastes and odors

The Virustat filter cartridge uses a patented ion-release technology that reduces residual iodine along with a specialized layer of coconut-carbon that further reduces any further residue. The Virustat cartridge is preceded by a replaceable 1-micron filter that removes 99.9% of pathogenic cysts (Giardia, etc). Additionally, a prefilter is installed below the cyst filter in order to remove sediment, dirt, and other potentially harmful organic contaminants.

Katadyn MyBottle personal water bottle purifiers provide a convenient alternative to larger pump-style water purifiers. Because they are designed for personal small-scale water filtration, MyBottle systems are not for use in situations where large volumes of water must be treated.

Each Katadyn MyBottle also includes a drinking straw to use as your everyday water bottle if the source water is already safe to drink.
